Electronic ILP Software, eILP Systems & Individual Learning Plans using eTracker & ePortfolio from VLE Support
What is it? eTracker is a web based ILP application, which enables teachers to track students' performance against targets set. It also has E-Tutorial functionality built in, to carry out target setting, performance review and many other things related to the student personalised learning plan. The whole system forms a very detailed ILP in electronic form and provides the student with an individual view so that they can interact with and follow their own performance. eTracker is an off the shelf product, and links with any college MIS/CIS database such as EBS or Unit-E in order to capture all the courses and students. It also imports attendance and punctuality amongst other things. It has received rave reviews and has raised much interest. Features:- Set SMART Targets

"The functionality of eTracker is outstanding - it is exactly what further education colleges like ours require. You can tell it has been developed by former teachers."
Barry Spencer, Programme Area Leader at Bromley College
"We were very impressed when we saw eTracker and St Dunstan's will be implementing it …without something like eTracker, feedback can be very ad hoc."
Colonel Norrie Wallace, Bursar at St Dunstan's College
"Like most colleges today, our ICT systems were quite disparate. Being able to bring all the data from different sources together to a one-stop-shop is a real advantage. VLE Support has been invaluable in helping us to achieve this, tailoring eTracker to suit our needs, and applying their knowledge and experience of similar projects to our college."
Louis Strover, Director of ILT Learning at John Ruskin College
In more detail
eTracker is a simple to use, online management tool that combines the effective use of data with a highly personal approach. In essence, the system is an information aggregator combined with a bespoke database application, being visible to teachers, students and managers, with benefits to all:
Teachers are able to monitor, assess and analyse their students' performance, helping them to identify issues and intervene fast, and enabling a much higher level of attention to be given to students where needed.
Students are motivated by the ability for them to easily assess their individual progress against personalised goals, allowing them greater ownership of the learning process and encouraging them to perform to a higher standard.
Managers are provided with a global view of the students' assessments and individual assessment criteria, enabling vastly improved management and increasing transparency at all levels within an educational establishment.
Since the design team are themselves educators, the system is designed to meet the exact needs of users; simplicity, versatility and ease of implementation have been the guiding principles throughout. Key features include:
Simple set-up - since the system draws on data already held by educational establishments, drawing it together to present a coherent picture, it is very simple to set up. This is helped by inclusion of a framework for most course types.
Ease of access - simple but secure web-based access allows people to work with the system wherever or whenever suits them. The design is optimised to work fast on the web and it can be reliably accessed even via a dial-up connection.
Simple but powerful presentation of information - For example, students receive a progress bar which shows their progress against dynamic targets set by teachers. Information is cross-referenced and the users can drill down in a number of ways, allowing them to tailor their methods of using the system.
Personalisation - the system allows students much greater ownership of the learning process and serves as a full Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
